Oh, I know .. I used to say that it's none of my business and I was also firmly telling everyone that I don't really care about the gossip... but, today I made it my business because I love and respect this guy a lot.
Today I had time to relax and browse on the internet about... of course Leehom. I haven't done this for quite some times now... *sigh... I wish I had more time. At first I thought his random facebook posts, his daily weibo, his rarely wechat message, his Android application can satisfy my hunger.. but no. When it comes to Leehom, I always want more.
And today's search led me to this website. Yeah!! An English site! I should be happy, but there's this ancient rumor which to my own surprise is now bugging me. People said, there's no smoke without fire.... and for the first time in my entire "Leehom fan-worship world".. I
So ... this is what will happen (to us, Leehom and me, lol!) if Leehom were really a gay.
First, I will replace my laptops and mobile phones screen background. Yeaaa.. it does look weird if I put a gay smiling face there, right? Right.
I will change my phone's ring tone with a default tone... just a normal "ring ring" is fine
I will spend lesser and lesser time browsing and searching for Leehom. Besides his works, I will probably have no interest anymore on other things, until someday I maybe will have this conversation; Friend: "Leehom's new song is really nice". Me: "oh? he has a new album?"
I will start collecting other songs from other musicians.. hmmm... something classy maybe?
My "treasury Leehom's box" will move from a premium place on my living room to a storage room under the stairs and will be dusted monthly, if my maid is not lazy.
I will have to think and re-think and think again whether I should buy the original album or just download it from internet. Oh well, my friend swore she is a fan, but she never buys the original. *smirking to .....*

Leehom has always been my superhero. He never fails to save me. He's my sunshine in my rainy days, and my moonlight in my darkest nights... He's my other heaven, my wei yi.... Wohooooo.. okay! stop all the cheesy parts and get to the point. Well, the point is .. all I said is true. haha.
When I read the news that he will be playing as one of the superhero characters, I went gaga. O yeaa! I love Superman, Spiderman, Batman and Hercules! I can't help it... I tend to fall in love with handsome fictional characters.. like Clark Kent, Dao Ming Shi, Edward Cullen, Damian Salvatore, Christian Grey, and even Poo the cute Panda.. LOL!
No doubt, this Annihilator movie will bring him to higher WW stardom. He can continue his music mission and conquer a wider world, the W-POP. But.. but.... I love Leehom not as a fictional character. I love him for what he is... a super genius and super handsome musician. I love him for his real music.
That's why even I went gaga for this big opportunity for him, and I am so happy for it, ... I was not as gaga as when I heard his new song or new album. He has been busy recently doing MM2 concert tours, filming My Lucky Star with Zhang Ziyi (see the trailer here), and shooting Cyber with Chris Hemsworth, Holt McCallany, and Tang Wei...but so far no progress on his new album. He posted some updates on his facebook that he's working on it.. but I guess... we'll have to wait just a little bit longer for his new album....
Now, while waiting.. let's see if Leehom will kick some *ss when he finally is the "annihilator"

2 new year's count down live performance at Taichung and Kaoshiung were just not enough. He had this idea to treat his fans. So right after that past-midnight performance, he posted a messange in his chinese facebook, weibo.

In less than 24hours, more than 700 fans were rushing to Riverside Live House in Taipei, and 200 of them were lucky to get the free mini concert tickets.
So I was trying to get some possible answers of why he's doing that. Here are what came to my mind
he's over excited that night, a little bit drunk, maybe. Wonder when he woke up on that day, late in the afternoon I bet, he'd still remember what he posted. LOL!

he loves performing, he just couldn't get enough of it, which makes me somehow feel glad.. I will be able to see him performed for a more more time to come.
well, US$ 17,000 was probably small money for him. From what I know he got at least US$200K from 1x performance only. Recently he's no 16 at China Celebrity 100 list published by Forbes in term of activities, earnings and exposure.
.... i want to write that he truly loves his fans.. but that will be so lame, i guess :p
so maybe just for no reason at all. It's just perfect. It's new year, it's nice to give something back for people who had supported him all throught 2011

Fifteen is the number of years it takes for whiskey to mature and age to perfection. For Asian American c-pop singer Leehom Wang, fifteen years has had little effect on his good looks as time has left virtually no trace on his almost perfect complexion. The shy and sunny smile from his youth can still be found on him. Only through his eyes might traces of his real age show through – the stare of someone who is a mature veteran in his industry and is comfortable with its intricacies. But beyond that, one can still see the passion that glows continuously from his eyes, with the same intensity as fifteen years ago.
When people hear “Leehom Wang”, they often conjure up positive adjectives such as “clean”, “comfortable”, or “ideal idol”. However, “film director”, a heavy duty artistic profession that usually requires a dose of rebelliousness, seems to have little or no connection with Leehom. Nevertheless, in the Summer of 2010, Leehom will be making the rounds with media interviews and attending film festivals as a real film director. Not only will he debut as the director for the movie “Love in Disguise”, but he will also star in the movie as the male lead.
Natural Path toward Directing
“Love in Disguise” was not Leehom’s first foray into directing. Years earlier, Lehom had already started directing his own music videos [i.e. “In the Depths of Bamboo Forest”, or his latest music video "Firewood, Rice, Oil, Salt, Sauce, Vinegar, Tea", shown below]. After debuting on the silver screen as a film actor, in Ang Lee’s “Lust, Caution”, Lee was intrigued and although unplanned he made his first steps toward becoming a film director.
“I normally go with the flow for everything. I didn’t set a goal to release an album at the very beginning, nor did I set a goal to become an actor from the onset. Similarly, I didn’t say I want to become a director at the beginning. My thoughts in becoming a director came naturally. It follows my thought pattern and attitude in creating better products. If this song can be done in a better way, why not try to produce it on my own? This way of thinking is what I would like others to understand. I have these thoughts naturally, and that doesn’t mean I would necessarily need to be titled as a director or a producer. I just love to improve my creations. That’s why for this movie, it’s also simply a way to express my ideas and my creative side to my audience, and that’s why I decide to handle it directly.”
With an astrological sign of Taurus, Leehom exhibits the quality of his sign: steadiness and great emotional control. In a gentle and resolute manner, he told us the reason why he chose to become a director. His way of thinking is unobtrusive, and yet it contains a great imploding power – perhaps, this comes from the experience Leehom accumulated over the years.
Strange Bearded Man’s Directing Experience
“Love in Disguise” is a movie that allows viewers to explore the witty and comedic side of Leehom. Not only was he the film director, he also wrote the screenplay and acted as the lead. This metro romantic comedy has many funny jokes and it also mixed in some real life experiences of Leehom’s.
“The main character is a famous star. In the story, he pretends to be a very strange minority student with a big beard. This plot is definitely inspired by my real way of life. When I go to a foreign country, and nobody recognizes me, I normally introduce myself as a piano teacher. And when I normally go out in Taiwan, I do have some wigs, fake beard, etc. prepared… Of course, the movie has exaggerated these fun stuff, but it does reflect certain parts of my life. From different levels or angles to watch this film, you can simply say, it’s a romantic comedy, or you can say it’s a musical, or a combination of pop and traditional music. It is a collection of the interesting and funny side of the entertainment industry that I observed over the years.”

Even though he is the film director, Leehom stressed that the shooting atmosphere was cheerful and funny, due to the fact that it was a romantic comedy. Supporting cast and comedian Chen Han Dian often imitated him during the shoot. Of course, filmmaking has always been a difficult business, regardless of the atmosphere. There was a time when almost everyone in the crew caught a cold, and yet everyone soldiered on to finish the movie.
This is Leehom Wang’s first attempt at directing and acting in the same film. This time around, there is a great contrast between his performance on the more serious movies such as “Lust, Caution” or “Little Big Soldier”. So, which character is the real him? In reality, none of them are. As Leehom likes to explore new stuff all the time, we believe viewers will be anticipating a surprising new “him” in his next project.
Being Himself as a Director
Thirteen years ago, on the first issue of men’s uno magazine: At the time, Leehom was only in the public eye for two years. With a fresh young image, he was presented on this new and unknown magazine. Within these thirteen years, he reappeared on men’s uno for around eight to nine times. The youthful, innocent look is no longer there, instead, a mature Leehom has also slowly changed his image from “ideal idol” to a multidirectional creative intellect. Perhaps in our minds, he is still the boy with a sunshine smile. But who would have thought… he has already been in the entertainment circle for fifthteen years.
“Maybe it’s because I have never stopped working!” He smilingly said, “I have always kept myself at “ready” mode, I have never let myself relaxed. Perhaps that’s the secret formula on letting others believe I have not aged at all!”
Continually trying new things, Leehom always amazes his fans with his latest creations. And perhaps it’s part of his personality, he loves to try out new things , such as learning new musical instruments, different languages, and even Khoomi singing (Mongolian throat singing). He doesn’t want to be sold and presented as merely a product, and hopes others will take note of his art. He never sets a limit on his performance in different areas. From his debut fifteen years ago, he has grown into a respected and successful entertainer, but at the same time he wishes to become more like his idol entertainer Prince, or a director such as Stanley Kubrick, who seemed to be perpetually inspired, constantly producing multi-dimentional pieces.
This year, Leehom enters a new phase of his life as a film director. Not only can he direct a story, he also keeps adding new elements and new colors to his own life. I believe that he is not just a good singer and a good actor, but also a naturally good director.

But from recent article, I found out that actually Leehom can easily fall asleep in less than 3 minutes ... anywhere!

Leehom answered fan's question in an event in Singapore (Brand Anniversary) that "LOVE WHAT YOU DO" was the thing that has kept him motivated. His brother Leekai said, he'd be happy if he can have half passion of what Leehom has toward his music.. Love and Passion to what we do, to our work, to our job.. will give us strength to persistently give the best and Love and Passion will also make us happy during rough times. I believe him.

Leehom Wang’s latest track “Bo Ya Cuts The Strings (伯牙絕弦)” marks his second collaboration with Ashin of Mayday after "Beside the Plum Blossoms" in 2005. The song was inspired by the famous story of Bo Ya and Ziqi (伯牙與子期) from the Spring and Autumn Period (春秋時代). Leehom had wanted to pen the lyrics himself, but after three days without any sleep or lyrics, he went to Ashin for help. Leehom was apparently so satisfied with the results that he called Ashin a “Genius Contemporary Lyricist”!
In the lyrics of "Bo Ya Cuts The Strings", it described the meeting of musician Bo Ya with his listener Ziqi, in which the latter could understand his music like no other. As the song title suggested, Bo Ya cut the strings off his guqin (a string instrument) after he found out Ziqi has died. The story resumed a thousand years later with the musician playing his melody again, dedicating it to the one who truly understands him.
The story of Bo Ya and Ziqi was also incorporated into Leehom's movie Love in Disguise. He played the role of Bo Ya, while costar Crystal Liu played Ziqi, along with his song "Bo Ya Cuts The Strings" as the movie's theme. In the music video, Leehom transforms himself into a modern day "Bo Ya" who travels back in time in search of "Ziqi". Unfortunately Crystal Liu was busy filming a new film at the time, so the production team found a lookalike that has long hair and plays the Guzheng. But on a closer look, she actually looks more like Sandrine Pinna than Crystal Liu.

Leehom Wang’s first directorial debut, Love in Disguise will be released on August 13, 2010. In the film, Leehom will portray a superstar who disguises himself as a student in a music conservatory school while pursuing love interest, Crystal Liu Yifei.
Leehom has secretly guarded footage of his kissing scene with Crystal and banned the photos from media circulation.
Placing great importance and involved heavily with all aspects of Love in Disguise’sproduction, Leehom worked on the script personally and insisted that the leading actress be Crystal Liu. The film allegedly cost $600 million (NT) to produce.
Allegedly, Leehom and Crystal were heavily engaged in their “romance” outside of filming. Leehom and Crystal often had dinner dates together and netizens noticed the pair even wore matching lovers’ bracelets. After filming a kissing scene with Crystal, Leehom immediately took the film footage away, banning the public release of the kissing photos. Suspicion arose as to whether Leehom was using the film to privately chase after Crystal, as evidenced by his overly protective gesture of their “relationship.”
According to IFPI (International Federation of the Phonographic Industry) data that has been released recently by WORD Magazine, Leehom is number one in album sales in China with total 13.000 copies, beats Jay Chou who has been in that position for 6 years in a row. However, if Google translated it correctly for me, during those 6 years, the highest selling record of Jay was 2.700 copies in 2002. I think it's a bit weird, coz 2.700 copies doesn't sound like a good sales for a singer as big as Jay. But then, when it comes to Pirated Issue, isn't that China the worst??
WORD said Leehom is the only Chinese artist with the highest selling album and almost as close as Elvis's in China. And for that, WORD put Leehom's picture on the cover together with other legends.

I remember last year when there was a saliva war between Leehom's record company with Show Luo. SonyMusic (Leehom's) said that Luo's company have bought the music chart to fix the sales record with following result : Show at 32.32% of sales and Leehom coming in at only 12.82%.
So, with the released data from IFPI, does it mean that it's true? I don't know and I don't wanna know. All I care about is that I'm so happy that the news came in the very right time. It will help Leehom promotes his new album and his new movie... I hope.

Sun, July 25. Leehom Wang held a pre-order signing event for his upcoming album, “18 Martial Arts”, at Ximending. Heavy rain began to fall unexpectedly and two thousand fans at the event became impatient and rowdy and shouted their dissatisfaction toward the media journalists for interviewing Leehom for too long.
It’s been a year and a half since his last album, and “18 Martial Arts” is set to release on July 31st. Fans of Mainland China, Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and other places came to show their support for the superstar, but they were all soaked in rain.
The event was originally scheduled to begin at 3pm. Leehom was ten minutes late, but he immediately performed his new single, “Firewood, Rice, Oil, Salt, Soy Sauce, Vinegar, Tea”, as he dashed on stage. The fans in the rain screamed in excitement upon seeing their idol. Leehom’s good friend, Vivian Hsu, who wrote the lyrics for his latest single, also specially flew back from Japan to show her support. She gave Leehom a high-heel shoe shaped telephone as a gift and laughed, “He always busies himself with his fans and music. American-born idol Wang Lee-hom's directorial debut is about to hit the screens with a little help from his friends, Liu Wei reports
In the opening scene of Love in Disguise, singer / songwriter Wang Lee-hom's directorial debut, the protagonist, a superstar, hits a paparazzo who has been bombarding him with questions about his girlfriend.
"Hit a paparazzo? No, I would not do that! That's what they want for the next day's headline," Wang laughs.
But, perhaps a secret desire? He smiles, "yeah ..."
"But I will not let them win," the 34-year-old star adds quickly. "I will give them the most official answer I can think of."
With looks as impressive as his Musical Talent, he has been given the title "perfect Idol", but it is not something he is comfortable with.
"I really want to know what is perfect about me?" He says.
He describes himself as rebellious, but believes the most rebellious thing he did was to persuade his father that he wanted to be a musician, not a doctor.
Born to a family of doctors in New York, he returned to Taiwan in 1995 to release his debut album after years of formal training at Williams College, and Berklee College of Music in Massachusetts. His parents are much more understanding about his job now, and Wang says he will invite his parents to watch the film.
When Wang was shooting a scene in a stadium earlier this year, he did not know his mother was sitting in the auditorium, watching him commanding some 4,000 extras with a loudspeaker. She left without any notice, but called him later to say: "Hard work and well done."
"They worried I would have no job when I stepped into this industry, but now they worry I have too many jobs," he says.
Adept in various musical instruments from piano to the erhu, he has never been afraid to break boundaries. His 20-odd albums explore Eastern and Western musical elements from rock to Peking Opera. Now he has tried his hand at filmmaking.
In Love in Disguise, which premieres on Aug 12, he stars as a superstar who disguises himself as a student in a music school to pursue the woman he loves.
"I do have wigs and a fake beard at home," Wang says. "Sometimes I also put on make-up when I go for a date or something." However, most of the time he prefers to be a "home boy", staying in his music studio at home for days, not shaving or showering, "like a mad scientist".
In the film he successfully escapes from the entertainment scene and leads a different life, but in reality he relishes new challenges.
The American-born singer was not an expert in writing in Chinese, he struggled through 54 drafts of the script, with generous advice from Wang Hui-ling, writer of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, and Chen Kuo-fu, writer and director of The Message.
He acted in Ang Lee's 2007 movie Lust, Caution and took heart from Lee's words of encouragement. "I remember Lee told me that if you really believe in something, it will happen," Wang says. He says that he also learnt from Lee to have the courage to touch a new topic and become an expert by learning. "Lee didn't know much about cowboys, but he was able to make Brokeback Mountain, and he even made Sense and Sensibility!"
Before making the film Wang watched many movies such as Mulan and Eddie Murphy's Coming to America, and noted their jokes and structures. He also spent several months sitting down with artists to make a storyboard of all the scenes before filming started in February.
When he began filming he remembered the example set by Jackie Estate. Internet acted in Estate's Little Big Soldier. On the first day of the shoot, Estate used a Loudspeaker to tell the crew that they could not do any harm to the Forest where they were filming. And when they left, the location should be clean. "Chan told us that even if it was a rubbish hill when we arrived, we must ensure it was clean when we finished. I told my crew the same thing," he says.
After the post-production on Disguise was finished, Wang took the first copy on the plane to Beijing and handed it to the heads of the distribution company himself. At the company's test screening, he watched his work in a cinema for the first time. "I tried to imagine myself as an ordinary filmgoer, one watching a film with popcorn in hands," he says. "And I finally felt relaxed the moment it finished - it's really not bad."
Wang is not the first singer to make a film. Taiwan pop singer Jay Chou directed a tragic love story named Secret in 2007, which was popular with both viewers and critics. The two idols are always compared. Both are Asian heartthrobs, both found fame when young and both like to fuse Chinese and Western music. Now they have both tested their talent for filmmaking.
"I am not following anyone," Wang says. "I just want to be a versatile artist."
